Allium oschaninii
Also called French Griselle Shallots or French Gray Shallots.
Delicious and classic, the French grey shallot is used widely throughout France. Outside skin is grey and tough, but the inside is purple and white, quite lovely. Mild and distinct shallot flavor. Considered the "true" shallot.
To grow, simply plant in the fall and harvest the following summer when plants die down. Easy to grow.
