Alma was bred by Texas A&M and is a great fig for states with humid and hot summers. It is a vigorous grower for us and produces loads of yellow figs. They tend to ripen later in the season and seem to prefer warm temps reach optimal flavor.
Our figs are grown in-ground without protection in zone 6b Kansas. Cuttings are thicker and more substantial than those grown in containers. Our goal is to provide cold hardy fig varieties that we have tested and found to be productive in our climate.
Cuttings are approximately 6-8" with minimum of 3 nodes and fully lignified.
